Elisabeth Elektra releases new single "Desire" ahead of upcoming album

Elisabeth Elektra has returned with her latest single, "Desire", a vibrant anthem lifted from her forthcoming album Hypersigil, which is due in early 2025. Co-produced with Jonny Scott (CHVRCHES, The Kills), the track is a bold statement, blending Elektra’s unique brand of electro-pop with echoes of Prince and Madonna at their most daring.

"Desire" is more than just a pop track; it’s a celebration of individuality, femme power, and sexual autonomy. Elektra channels the rebellious energy of queer icons like Christine and the Queens and Lady Gaga, crafting a song that feels both timeless and unapologetically modern. With a pulsing beat and shimmering production, the song aims straight for the dancefloor, offering a euphoric escape wrapped in a message of self-empowerment.

Lyrically, "Desire" stands as a defiant proclamation of body positivity and the reclamation of sexuality. Elektra’s words, supported by Scott’s expansive production, speak directly to those who have felt marginalised or stifled by societal expectations. "Desire" challenges these norms head-on, with Elektra herself describing it as “a battle cry for those who’ve been told their desires are wrong.”

The accompanying music video, created in collaboration with visual artist Greta Kalva, deepens the song’s themes of liberation. Inspired by Greek mythology and queer art, the video is a visually striking counterpart to the song, weaving dreamlike imagery into a bold statement on creativity and sensuality.

With "Desire", Elisabeth Elektra cements her place as a pop provocateur, offering a glimpse of what’s to come with Hypersigil. If this track is any indication, the album promises to be an exploration of freedom and expression, set to a soundtrack of unforgettable hooks and anthemic beats.
