FAST BLOOD announce debut album 'Sunny Blunts'

Newcastle's indie-punk sensations, FAST BLOOD, have announced their debut album Sunny Blunts, set for release on 3 May, courtesy of South Wales punk label Scene Report Records.

Available for preorder now, the record will be released on pink/white galaxy vinyl limited to a run of 500 copies, in addition to digital platforms.

Recorded and mixed by Chris McManus at Blank Studios, Newcastle Upon Tyne, and mastered by Will Killingsworth (ORCHID, AMPERE) at Dead Air Studios in Western Massachusetts, USA, Sunny Blunts promises a colossal sound that encapsulates modern punk at its finest. With a blend of hefty and soulful tunes, the album showcases the band's most ambitious work yet—a richly diverse collection of songs, each commanding attention in its own right.

As a sneak peek into the album's vibe, FAST BLOOD has unveiled a music video for lead single “Sexual Healing”—a bold feminist anthem celebrating sexual independence and equality. Front-woman Abigail Barlow delivers a powerful vocal performance, embodying frustration and desire with unapologetic fervor..

Vocalist Abigail Barlow shares of the track:

“Don't be tempted to take this purely at face value. 'Sexual Healing' is a feminist anthem and a celebration of sexual independence and equality—we wanted to reimagine Black Flag's 'Slip It In' from a woman's perspective.”

Since their inception in 2019, FAST BLOOD has been making waves in the DIY punk scene of North East England. Their relentless energy and sonic barrage have garnered attention, earning them gigs alongside renowned acts like Mannequin Pussy, Pegboy, and Toxic Reasons.

Compared to the likes of Descendents, Hot Snakes, White Lung, and Pretty Girls Make Graves, FAST BLOOD offers a unique blend of fast-paced, energetic punk rock with influences ranging from 90's midwestern indie/emo to hardcore and garage punk.

With consistent support from BBC Introducing North East and glowing reviews from music tastemakers, FAST BLOOD is ready to take their electrifying live performances on the road. UK live dates are already on sale, featuring appearances alongside Onlooker, Redshift, Good Grief, Code Break, bigfatbig, Wild Spelks, and more.
