House of Protection debut with fierce single "It's Supposed To Hurt"
Aric Improta and Stephen Harrison, known for their dynamic presence in the music scene with previous bands like Fever 333, Night Verses and The Chariot, have unveiled their latest venture, House of Protection. The duo has launched this new project under Red Bull Records, marking a fresh chapter in their careers with the debut single "It's Supposed To Hurt".
Produced by Jordan Fish of Bring Me The Horizon, "It's Supposed To Hurt" combines elements of punk, electronic music, and hardcore, reflecting the band's commitment to pushing musical boundaries. The single is an explosive introduction to House of Protection's sound, showcasing both Aric and Stephen's vocal talents for the first time.
The name "House of Protection" was inspired by the Massive Attack song "Protection", resonating with the band's goal to create a safe haven for creativity and their audience. The accompanying music video, filled with chaotic and intense visuals, perfectly captures the essence of their live performance energy and DIY spirit.
Discussing the origins of their debut track, the band shared that "It's Supposed To Hurt" emerged from initial improvisations, setting the tone for their sound and artistic direction:
“‘It’s Supposed To Hurt’ was the first song we wrote. Some of the vocals were from our initial improvisations. When we started this, we had no idea how we would sound or where we wanted to take it. Neither of us had sung before, we just knew the energy we wanted to create sonically and that we’d put in whatever time it took to get it to feel right. Fortunately, this song answered a lot of those questions instantly.”
With "It's Supposed To Hurt", House of Protection is not just introducing a song but inviting listeners to experience the raw, unfiltered essence of their musical expression.
