Peter Bibby shares new single "Terracotta Brick"

Australian indie musician Peter Bibby has released his latest single, "Terracotta Brick," from his forthcoming album Drama King set for release on 31 May via Spinning Top Music, this new track offers a glimpse into Bibby's eclectic and introspective musical style.

"Terracotta Brick" delves into Bibby's experiences working as a bricklayer, blending heartfelt lyrics with a melodic soft rock influence. The song contrasts sharply with Bibby's previously released single "Fun Guy," showcasing his range and ability to craft songs that are both reflective and relatable.

In discussing the inspiration behind "Terracotta Brick," Bibby shared:

“"t had been a while since we'd all sat down together and written collaboratively. Getting back to writing with all of us in the same room again really allowed this song to emerge naturally.”

He humorously adds that the song's melancholic yet melodic approach is a tribute to his time in the construction industry, jokingly referring to his guitar solo technique as 'tradie’s tears.'

The forthcoming album Drama King marks a significant evolution in Bibby's career. Produced by Dan Luscombe and mixed in Los Angeles with Josh Block, the album captures the essence of Bibby’s artistic growth and his journey towards more mature, reflective songwriting.

In anticipation of the album's release, Bibby will be embarking on the Drama King Australian tour, featuring a residency at the Buffalo Club in Fremantle and shows across major Australian cities. This tour not only highlights Bibby's dynamic live performances but also his commitment to connecting with fans through music that resonates on a deeply personal level.

As Bibby prepares for the release of Drama King, he remains a distinctive voice in the indie music scene, celebrated for his candid storytelling and unique sound. "Terracotta Brick" is currently available for streaming on all major platforms, offering fans a taste of what to expect from the upcoming album.
