Love Rarely release explosive new single "Mould"

Emerging from Leeds, math rock/emo outfit Love Rarely have shared their latest single, "Mould," marking their debut release since signing with Big Scary Monsters. Following the success of their inaugural EP Lonely People, the band has returned with a powerful track showcasing their distinctive blend of intricate riffs, gritty vocals, and raw emotion.

After a summer spent tucked away writing new music, Love Rarely took inspiration from bands like The Fall of Troy, La Dispute, and Loathe to craft “Mould” and its equally fierce B-side, "Whiplash."

According to guitarist Dan Dewsnap, the contrasting nature of the two songs allows the band to showcase their versatility:

“Mould/Whiplash as a project excited us because of the contrast between the two songs. The idea of being able to show Love Rarely's versatility wrapped up in one continuous visual, felt right instantly. Both songs carry a similar meaning, exploring mental health issues that are exacerbated by the creative process & then in Whiplash that is coupled with external pressures to still perform/create regardless of what may be occurring in everyday life.”

Known for their infectious energy and genre-blurring sound, Love Rarely combine elements of math rock, emo, and screamo, crafting complex time signatures and raw ferocity that set them apart. Their ability to weave together intricate melodies with intense emotional depth signals the rise of a new wave of alternative bands in 2024.

Despite being a relatively new band, Love Rarely have already made waves on the live circuit, performing at festivals like Burn It Down and Humber Street Sesh, and supporting acts like Loathe and Static Dress. With growing praise from fans and press alike and over 460K streams on Spotify, their innovative sound is quickly establishing them as one of the most exciting new acts of 2024.
