Mothman, The Man share new single “Too Long”
Falmouth-based psych/garage rockers Mothman, The Man have just dropped their latest single "Too Long" via Krautpop Records.
This track is the latest preview of the forthcoming new album Where's Your Head?, set to be released on 19 April.
Frontman Connor Childs sheds light on the essence of the track, stating:
"It's a stoner and sludge-infused psychedelic track about the themes of lost and unrequited love...but ironically though. It's more of a parody/tongue-in-cheek look at the cheesy, overserious psychedelic love songs of the late '60s and early '70s through a modern lens. This was the first track that I wrote out of all of the tracks on the album, and it served as a great reference point for the sound/songwriting approach I would incorporate into the rest of the writing process."
Where's Your Head? was recorded partially during the band's tour in 2023 while promoting their debut album 1000 Eyes, and partly utilizing Falmouth University facilities afterward. The album was produced by drummer Billy Mattock, contributing to the band's creative synergy.
The album showcases Mothman, The Man's eclectic influences, spanning from psychedelic and doom to stoner rock. Childs, steeped in a world of diverse musical inspirations, drew from artists such as The Melvins, Ty Segall, and black midi, infusing the album with a unique sonic identity.
Don't miss the chance to catch Mothman, The Man live on their UK headline tour in April. The tour includes dates in Falmouth, Exeter, Southampton, London, and Northampton.
