Plutocracy Planet drop new single “But You”

Plutocracy Planet, the brainchild of former Alarm Magazine editor and musical adventurer Scott Morrow, has teamed up with ONELINEDRAWING (Jonah Matranga of FAR fame), to deliver their latest single, "But You Said”.

The track is a melodic, moody masterpiece, blending post-hardcore sensibilities with electronic elements, culminating in a captivating sonic experience.

Born amidst the chaos of the pandemic and fuelled by a desire to address societal injustices, Plutocracy Planet stands as an experimental socio-political super-collective. Their self-titled debut album, slated for release on 12 July , promises a diverse musical journey, featuring an array of esteemed vocalists and instrumentalists from various genres.

Plutocracy Planet's debut LP boasts an impressive line-up of contributors, including members of iconic bands such as The Dillinger Escape Plan, American Football, Protest the Hero, The Get-Up Kids, and more. From hardcore to hip hop, emo to avant-garde, the album traverses a wide spectrum of musical styles, tackling themes of greed, inequality, and the pervasive influence of money in politics.

Commenting on "But You Said," Jonah Matranga shares:

"Lyrically, 'BUT YOU SAID' digs into the frustrating experience of trying to engage in meaningful discourse in today's digital age. It's a reflection on the chaos and misinformation perpetuated by social media platforms. Musically, the track is a slow-burn journey, filled with dynamic shifts and poignant moments that capture the essence of the collaborative process."

Plutocracy Planet's debut album, produced by Mark Rose of Spitalfield, is set to drop on 12 July, available on vinyl and digital platforms. Stay tuned for a groundbreaking release featuring an eclectic mix of musical talents.
