Croydon's self-proclaimed DIY "dirtbag boyband" Bears in Trees are back with a burst of energy, presenting their latest single "I Wanna Feel Calm" from the highly anticipated album How to Build an Ocean: Instructions, slated for release on 26 April via I Sure Hope It Does.

The track, encapsulates the band's signature vibrant sound and infectious optimism. Following the success of previous releases like “Hot Chocolate” and “Things That Look Like Mistakes'“ Bears in Trees continues to captivate audiences with their unique blend of indie-punk.

Fans can expect an unforgettable live experience as Bears in Trees, along with Lexie Carroll and The Happy Fits, hit the road to share their electrifying music with audiences across the UK.

Lead vocalist Iain shares insight into the inspiration behind the track:

“I wrote this when I felt burnt out from self-improvement," they say, "In the process of being 'better', I started to only see the parts of me that weren't 'good enough'. It became too much, and the guilt made me want to return to an earlier, more chaotic version of myself. As I reconnected with people I let go I started to let myself be. Getting out of my head and being around people I loved brought me out of that headspace.”

How to Build an Ocean: Instructions promises to be a deeply personal yet universally relatable album, exploring themes of purpose, beauty, and the pursuit of joy in the face of uncertainty. Produced by George Perks, the album marks a significant milestone for Bears in Trees, showcasing their growth as artists while staying true to their authentic sound.

Bears in Trees' commitment to authenticity and connection with their fanbase has garnered them a dedicated following, affectionately known as 'sandboxes'. Their innovative approach to social media and unwavering passion for creating honest music have earned them opportunities to share stages with renowned artists and perform at prestigious festivals.
