Sham Family share new single “Modern Myth”

Toronto's relentless punks, Sham Family, are back with a bang as they unleash their latest single, “Modern Myth”, via Wavy Haze.

Following their 2022 self-titled EP, this fuzz-drenched track, produced by Graham Walsh marks a significant return for the band, accompanied by a visually distorted video.

Sham Family's potent blend of post-punk and post-rock is on full display in “Modern Myth”, delivering driving guitars, riotous crescendos, and politically charged lyrics. The song acts as a cultural critique on societal narratives, media integrity, and the inherent distrust in news.

Talking about the single the band said:

“'Modern Myth' takes on our society's obsession with creating and recreating stories rather than truths. From National Enquirer alien babies to modern election interference, we have been consistently at odds trying to figure out what we actually know versus which fictions we've swallowed whole”

Sham Family, emerging from Toronto's vibrant music scene, is making waves in the contemporary post-punk landscape. Known for their electrifying live performances, the quartet has established a reputation for delivering the loudest and most captivating shows possible.

Catching the attention of Wavy Haze Records, founded by indie icons Born Ruffians, Sham Family became the first non-Ruffians to join the label's esteemed roster. Following the success of their debut EP, the band reflects on their growth over the past two years, expressing confidence in their roles and a stronger, more mature sound.

Don't miss the visceral energy and sonic exploration of Sham Family, poised to leave an indelible mark on the post-punk scene in Canada and beyond.
