Sam Akpro releases new single "Disposition"

Peckham-born artist Sam Akpro drops his latest single, "Disposition" via ANTI-, the track is a pulsating groove tailor-made for the late-night hours.

Following the success of his last track "Death By Entertainment" and his collaboration with the esteemed label ANTI-, Akpro showcases the breadth of his ambition with this new release. Accompanying the single announcement is news of a headline show at London's Corsica Studios on 12 June, promising an electrifying live experience.

Renowned for his captivating performances, Akpro has graced the stages of prestigious festivals like Pitchfork Festival Paris, Green Man Festival, and Outbreak Festival, where he shared billing with acts like Death Grips and Denzel Curry. His live shows are characterized by packed crowds and a palpable energy, amplified by his dynamic stage presence and boundary-pushing sound.

Co-produced with Shrink, "Disposition" represents a sonic evolution for Akpro, blending melodic elements with mind-altering electronic textures while retaining his signature off-kilter grooves and jagged rhythms. The accompanying music video, directed by Pedro Takahashi and produced by Fred Qvortrup, captures the essence of the track's exploration of the highs and lows of a night out.

Reflecting on the song's themes, Akpro muses, "Gurning into the sunrise - is it worth it?" The lyrics offer a poignant commentary on the tangled euphoria of a night's revelry and the inevitable sobering comedown that follows.

"Disposition" builds on the success of Akpro's second EP, Arrival, which garnered praise from critics and fans alike for its genre-defying blend of post-rock, jazz, dub, reggae, and no-wave influences.
