Blackout Problems and Lake Malice unite for "Quicker Than Death" ahead of their joint tour

Blackout Problems and Lake Malice have teamed up for a blistering collaboration, in the form of their new banger "Quicker Than Death". A blend of Blackout Problems' emotional electro-rock and Lake Malice's heavy-hitting metal riffs, the track arrives via SO Recordings, setting the stage for the duo's upcoming UK and European tour.

The Munich-based Blackout Problems are known for their powerful, introspective sound, and with this new single, they've paired perfectly with one of our faves Brighton's Lake Malice, a band we’ve long championed for their innovative fusion of metal and electronic elements. The collaboration emerged organically, with both bands working remotely, resulting in a track that, as Lake Malice puts it, "came about really naturally". Despite the geographical distance, the synergy between the bands is clear. Blackout Problems’ frontman Mario Radetzky co-produced the track with Lake Malice, adding further polish with mixing and mastering by none other than Enter Shikari's Rou Reynolds.

"Quicker Than Death" packs a punch, filled with urgency and emotion. It’s the kind of song that feels destined for live performances, which makes sense considering its genesis. As Radetzky explained, the track was conceived with their joint tour in mind, designed to feature in both bands' sets during their co-headline shows on the RIOT tour. The result? A high-octane anthem that encapsulates the energy both bands bring to the stage.

The RIOT tour kicks off this October with 24 dates across Europe before hitting the UK in November. Fans in cities like Manchester, Birmingham, and London can expect a thrilling show, with Blackout Problems and Lake Malice sharing the stage for what promises to be an electrifying experience. Lake Malice’s statement that "we love the outcome a lot" couldn’t ring truer for those of us eagerly anticipating seeing these bands together.

With live dates that stretch across 10 countries, including a slew of German shows with post-hardcore band Sperling, this tour is shaping up to be a must-see for fans of dynamic, genre-blurring music. Tickets are already on sale, and given the excitement surrounding "Quicker Than Death", they’re likely to go fast. For anyone still wondering if these two bands can deliver live what they’ve achieved in the studio, the answer will be revealed soon enough—on a stage near you.
