Bristol Punk Rock ‘n Rollers Split Dogs unleash ferocious new single “And What?”

Bristol's vibrant punk rock scene gets a potent injection of adrenaline as Split Dogs, the dynamic quartet known for their high-octane performances and unapologetic attitude, roar back into action with their latest single, “And What?”. Released via Venn Records, this blistering track is a raucous anthem that encapsulates the frustration and spirit of British seaside culture.

Guitarist Mil Martinez explains the inspiration behind the track, stating:

"It's a total embrace of working-class British seaside culture. The song highlights the frustration of living and working in a seasonal holiday resort all summer with no holiday while the world around you has theirs."

The accompanying video for “And What?” captures the essence of a quintessentially British summer holiday, complete with fish and chips, ice creams, and a healthy dose of irreverent humour. Drummer and video director Chris adds, "We wanted the video to be Split Dogs on a proper British summer holiday; fish and chips, ice creams, and tattoos! Big up the locals and the seagulls."

With a swinging guitar hook that kicks things off, “And What?” is a relentless two-minute thrill ride that showcases Split Dogs' signature sound. Vocalist Harry delivers raw and gritty vocals, drawing listeners into the band's world with every impassioned lyric.

Reflecting on the recording process, Harry shares:

"The new single and the rest of our upcoming album has all been recorded on 16 track tape with no computer in sight. It gives the album a sound that can't be replicated with a modern recording system. You feel like you're in the room with us, like you're part of the song."

Fans can expect more electrifying releases from Split Dogs, as they've just wrapped up work on their new studio album, promising an explosive sonic experience that stays true to their raw and authentic roots.
