Like Roses release new single “Broken Things (Lie to Me)”

Up-and-coming emo powerhouse Like Roses have just dropped their latest anthemic single. Produced by former Taking Back Sunday guitarist/vocalist Fred Mascherino, their latest track "Broken Things (Lie To Me)" showcases Like Roses’ growth as artists, proving they can display their passion right alongside their technical skill as songwriters.

“We can hide out in your bedroom, and I can lie awake / Let the water fill my lungs until I can’t scream,” belts rhythm guitarist and singer Amy Schmalkuche as she navigates themes of disillusionment in the song’s lyrics. The track crescendos into a massive outro, sure to be a highlight at the band's upcoming shows at Sad Summer Festival with Mayday Parade, The Maine, The Wonder Years, Real Friends, and more.

Talking about working with Masherino Schmalkuche said:

“Having the opportunity to work with someone who’s been such a big influence has been really special. So much about this recording process was different than anything we’ve done before and we’re stoked for everyone to hear it.”

Berkeley, California’s Like Roses is a force to be reckoned with. Singer and rhythm guitarist Amy Schmalkuche’s gritty yet melodic vocals divulge confessional lyrics that explore themes of heartache, loss, and introspection. Lead guitarist Devin Zamora, bassist Kayla Gonzalez, and drummer Aaron Seminoff contribute to the raw emo/pop-punk energy that compels you to jump into a crowded room and scream along at one of the band’s raucous shows.

With two EPs and a few singles, Like Roses has amassed millions of streams from fans around the world. Their 2023 breakout song “Easy” has more than 1.1 million streams on Spotify. Since then, the band has been touring across the United States and will be featured on the 2024 Sad Summer Festival with Mayday Parade, The Maine, The Wonder Years, Real Friends, and more. They recently went into the studio with former Taking Back Sunday guitarist and vocalist Fred Mascherino, who recorded their latest single “Broken Things (Lie to Me)."
